Apple has launched the new MacBook Pro lineup after a long wait and this series of laptops uses Apple's new M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max processors. To be specific, the 14-inch MacBook Pro comes in three chip variants, while the 16-inch version will be available in M3 Pro and M3 Max variants.

Specifications and features of 14 inch and 16 inch Apple MacBook Pro laptops

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 chip comes with an 8-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, 8GB of unified memory and 512GB/1TB of SSD storage. Its M3 Pro variant is available in two variants – 11-core CPU, 14-core GPU, 18 GB unified memory and 512 GB SSD storage and 12-core CPU, 18-core GPU, 18 GB unified memory, and 1 TB SSD storage. The M3 Max edition of the 14-inch MacBook Pro has a 14-core CPU, 30-core GPU, 36 GB of unified memory and 1 TB of SSD storage.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro processor will be available in 18 GB and 36 GB unified memory variants. Both models have a 12-core CPU, 18-core GPU and 512 GB of SSD storage. Its M3 Max variant comes in two variants – 14-core CPU, 30-core GPU, 36GB unified memory and 1TB storage and 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU, 48GB unified memory and 1TB SSD storage.

In terms of battery life, the 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro with Apple's M3 chip and 70 watt-hour battery will offer up to 22 hours of battery life while watching movies, while its M3 Pro and M3 Max chip variants with 72 watt-hour batteries can last up to 18. It comes with a 96W USB-C power adapter. The M3 Pro or M3 Max variants of Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro model offering a 100 watt-hour battery can last up to 22 hours of movie viewing. The 16-inch MacBook Pro comes with a 140-watt USB-C power adapter.

All MacBook Pro models feature a Liquid Retina XDR display with enhanced peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits, an in-built camera, six-speaker sound system, various connectivity options, and the laptops run macOS Sonoma. Apple claims the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 is ideal for students and business users, offering significant performance upgrades.
